Equipment Needed
It does not take much to get start in the sport of Speed Skating. You need to have a
CSA approved helmet (Hockey or Bike will be fine)
Cut resistant gloves (leather is fine)
Shin pads (soccer shin guards are good)
Knee pads (volleyball will do)
Throat guard/bib style and
Skates (club provided).
Last but not least a sense of humor and a great attitude.
Fitness Tax Credit
Starting in 2007, you may be able to claim the fees paid for physical fitness programs for your children under the age of 16? The newly proposed children's fitness tax credit provides parents with an annual credit of up to $500 per child to help cover the cost of their child's physical fitness programs or sporting activities fees.
